Austin Telco Federal Credit Union is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accountant to support our accounting operations and ensure accuracy in financial reporting. This role works closely with the accounting team and cross-functional departments to resolve balancing issues and perform a variety of accounting support duties.

What you'll do

• Perform general accounting functions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Ensure financial transactions comply with GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls.
• Assist in implementing new accounting policies and procedures.
• Support internal and external audits and regulatory examinations.
• Maintain financial databases and filing systems (digital and manual).
• Analyze current accounting practices and recommend improvements.
• Conduct variance analysis and reconcile balance sheet accounts periodically.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
