We are seeking an experienced Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead our private credit management team. The CIO will be responsible for overseeing our direct lending strategies, specifically focusing on senior secured loans to small and medium-sized businesses across the United States. This role requires a deep understanding of credit markets, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to sound investment practices.
Key Responsibilities
● Investment Strategy: Develop and implement credit and lending strategies that align with the company’s investment policies and objectives.
● Credit Recommendations: Provide informed credit and lending recommendations to the senior loan committee based on thorough analysis and due diligence.
● Team Leadership: Hire, train, and supervise a team of credit analysts, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
● Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage credit risks associated with the investment portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
● Software Proficiency: Utilize and oversee the use of credit shop tools and software systems to support sound and reliable loan decisions.
● Market Analysis: Stay abreast of market trends, economic conditions, and regulatory changes that may impact the credit landscape, providing insights to the team.
● Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to senior management and stakeholders on portfolio performance, investment strategies, and market conditions.
Qualifications
● Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
● Experience: Minimum of 8 years' experience in credit analysis, investment management, or related fields, with a focus on private credit or direct lending.
● Leadership Skills: Proven record of accomplishment of managing and developing high-performing teams.
● Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
● Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
● Technical Skills: Proficiency in credit analysis software and financial modeling tools.
Compensation
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, including a competitive salary and performance-based incentives.
