Commissioning Sr Advisor
What You Can Expect
As our Commissioning Engineer Sr Advisor, you will work within a cross-functional team dedicated to building and advancing this new internal business. In this dynamic, fast-growing environment, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of facility start-up, commissioning, testing, and handover to operations for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. This position is based in Houston, TX, and reports to the VP, CTO of ENGIE FlexGen NorAm.
- Interact with a multidisciplinary team made up of ENGIE personnel, EPC Contractor personnel, Major Equipment Vendor Technical Field Advisors, Consulting Engineers, and other specialist resources in accordance with all applicable contracts, permits, and other project requirements
- Technically supervise BroadView commissioning activities to bring the system from into fully safe, stable, and reliable operations by identifying all required startup, commissioning, and testing activities
- Execute a Commissioning Plan for their completion and provide input to the project’s design and execution plan by ensuring that BroadView commissioning activities can be completed safely and efficiently to achieve the budget and schedule
- Review all BESS project permits, agreements, licenses, registrations, and contracts (including ISO and TSP requirements) to identify all data to be collected and activities to be completed and documented during commissioning
What You’ll Bring
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Engineering, Science, or Technology. In lieu of a degree, we will consider candidates with a combination years of progressive, hands-on commissioning, project execution, or operations experience, supported by relevant professional training or certifications
- A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the development, design, and construction of complex energy or electrical projects, including direct involvement in the commissioning phase
- You have strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively within multi-disciplinary teams during the commissioning phase of BESS or other complex electrical projects
- You are knowledgeable in technical software such as SCADA systems, EMS, and other specialized applications, as well as standard office tools including MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, and MS Project
- You hold practical experience with additional platforms such as ArcGIS, GreenIT, SAP, and Procore to support project execution and commissioning activities
Additional Details
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy, three (3) days in office two (2) days remove
- Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
- Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $131,000 – $200,790 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.
In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
