Landscape Maintenance Laborer

As a Landscape Maintenance Laborer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving a variety of outdoor environments throughout the year. This position offers hands-on experience with a range of landscaping tasks and equipment, providing opportunities to develop valuable skills in horticulture, construction, and landscape design. Responsibilities
- Assist with landscape installation, including planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, as well as installing hardscape features such as patios and walkways
- Perform routine lawn care tasks such as mowing, edging, trimming, and fertilizing to maintain healthy and attractive outdoor spaces
- Maintain landscape features through pruning, tree trimming, and shrub shaping to promote plant health and visual appeal
- Operate hand tools (shovels, rakes, pruners) and power tools (weed eaters, blowers, trimmers) safely and efficiently
- Support irrigation system installation and maintenance to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
- Conduct landscape maintenance activities including soil preparation, mulching, aeration, and pest control
- Assist with snow plowing during winter months to keep pathways safe and accessible
- Help with excavation tasks using equipment such as mini-excavators for planting beds or drainage projects
- Support hardscape construction projects by preparing surfaces and assisting with stone or concrete work
- Follow safety protocols at all times when working with machinery and tools
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality
Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscaping, gardening, or outdoor maintenance is preferred but not required; on-the-job training is provided
- Mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment and power tools is a plus
- Familiarity with lawn care practices such as mowing, fertilizing, aeration, and pest management is beneficial
- Basic understanding of landscape maintenance techniques, including pruning, tree care, irrigation systems, and hardscape installation, is desirable
- Ability to operate small machinery like excavators or snow plows is helpful but not mandatory
- Strong work ethic with the ability to follow instructions and work safely in outdoor environments
- Good physical stamina for lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and performing manual labor in various weather conditions
Compensation
$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
