Labor & Delivery RN (FT/Nights) - TMC/Children's Hospital

Job Summary: This position performs an RN role in a high-risk Labor & Delivery unit at TMC/Children's Hospital, a Level IV Maternal Facility delivering over 5,200 babies annually. Collaborates with the physician and healthcare team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process. Provides professional nursing care to patients, including conducting nursing assessments, assisting with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. Delivers safe and appropriate care to patients, according to the nursing skills inventory and the age and needs of the patient/population served. Coordinates the planning for the delivery of nursing care with an interdisciplinary team and administers appropriate clinical decisions in the delivery of patient care.
Private, state-of-the-art labor and delivery suites feature superior clinical equipment, in addition to amenities for convenience and comfort. The staff is trained to care for all childbirth needs, including high-risk obstetrics. A maternal-fetal medicine specialist is on call 24/7 for fetal monitoring and ultrasound imaging.
Shift: Full-time Nights (12-hour shifts, every other weekend, rotating holidays).
Location: Houston, TX 77030.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ADN or BSN).
- Current Texas RN license or temporary/compact license.
- BLS certified; medication learning module required.
- 1+ years of L&D experience preferred (hires based on experience levels).
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
