Kata Robata, Houston's premier sushi restaurant, is expanding our team! We're renowned for exceptional service paired with outstanding sushi, Japanese cuisine, and drinks. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated, high-energy team with room to advance and learn from Houston's top chefs and service professionals.
We're seeking part-time and full-time Expo/Food Runners who are enthusiastic, team-oriented, and ready to excel in a fast-paced setting.
Pay: $9/hour base + tip outs Average $17 $25/hour (based on shift volume and performance)
What You'll Do:
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with kitchen and servers to ensure timely and accurate delivery of dishes
- Inspect plates for quality, presentation, and accuracy before they leave the kitchen
- Expedite orders by organizing tickets, calling out courses, and managing flow during service
- Run food to tables promptly, announcing items and assisting with any guest needs
- Maintain a clean and organized expo station
- Communicate effectively between front-of-house and back-of-house teams
- Assist with to-go orders and packaging when required
- Learn about our menu items, including Japanese ingredients and preparations, to better support the team
