Purchasing Assistant / Purchaser (Temp-to-Hire)

Randstad Staffing is partnering with a premier, established printing company in the 77042 area to find a detail-oriented and motivated Purchaser. salary: $18 - $20 per hour

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

Responsibilities

As the Purchaser, you will be the backbone of the production pipeline, ensuring the team has the materials needed to bring client projects to life.

• Manage Inventory: Monitor stock levels of paper, ink, specialized printing substrates, and bindery supplies.

• Source & Negotiate: Coordinate with trusted vendors to secure competitive pricing, check material availability, and ensure timely deliveries.

• Process Purchase Orders: Accurately enter, track, and expedite POs within the inventory management system.

• Collaborate Daily: Work closely with production managers and the sales team to align material delivery with tight project deadlines.

• Resolve Discrepancies: Address any shipping delays, damaged goods, or billing inconsistencies swiftly and professionally.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience: 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, or inventory control experience (experience within the printing, packaging, or manufacturing industry is a major plus!).

• Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with ERP/MRP software and Microsoft Excel.

• strong Communicator: Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills to partner effectively with vendors.

• Detail-Oriented: A sharp eye for numbers, specifications, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
