Principal Software Engineer, Network Visibility Systems

Keysight is seeking an experienced software developer to work with our network visibility software team, helping to design and implement the next generation of network packet broker platforms.

Responsibilities

The engineer in this position will be working to broaden the capabilities of the current generation of network packet broker platforms and help define the next generation. The candidate must be a highly productive developer with a good mix of software and teamwork skills, the ability to work within a cross‑functional team of hardware and software developers, and the knowledge and expertise to find creative solutions to complex customer problems.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science or computer engineering.
• At least 10 years of industry experience.
• Strong networking knowledge. Network security experience is a plus.
• A background working in embedded software development and strong skills in low‑level SW debug.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop and lead the development of software features within a large code base of C and Java SW.
• Sufficient hardware knowledge to work effectively with hardware, programmable logic, and manufacturing teams to help guide next‑generation system architectures and effectively assist in the identification of complex issues.
