Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse – Locum Tenens
• Location: Ladysmith, Wisconsin 54848
• Healthcare Setting: Medical-Surgical Unit (Community Hospital)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nurse Contract (Locum Tenens)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 09/15/2025 – End: 12/15/2025)
• Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2130-$2190
• Float Requirement: Must float to other hospital units as needed
• Weekend Coverage: Every third weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:6
• Charting System: Cerner EMR

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Previous travel nurse or locum tenens experience required
• BLS (AHA) and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (required)
• ACLS (AHA) certification preferred
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Ability to float within hospital units as needed
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality bedside nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 10-bed Med/Surg unit
• Perform Bed Side Shift Reporting (BSSR), utilize AIDET communication, and conduct hourly rounding
• Manage a patient ratio of up to 1:6 during night shifts
• Float to other hospital units as needed to support clinical operations
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform wound care procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including Physical Therapy, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Interpretation Services
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Comply with infection control and patient safety protocols
