Overview

SPEECH THERAPIST - PRN

We are seeking a Speech Therapist , sometimes referred to as our Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech Language Therapist. As our Speech Therapist , you are responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed.

Knapp Medical Center is an award-winning, not-for-profit hospital in Weslaco, Texas. With 227 beds, the community hospital specializes in emergency care, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, wound care, surgery, cardiology, gastroenterology, critical care, and interventional radiology. Knapp serves as the only acute care hospital in the Mid-Valley area, as well as Weslaco's only Level III Trauma Center, Advanced Primary Stroke Center, and Level II Newborn Nursery. Knapp has been providing quality and compassionate healthcare to Mid-Valley residents for 60 years. More than 300 physicians serve on the hospital's medical staff. Responsibilities

Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician. Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. Graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelors in speech therapy required.

2. MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology preferred.

3. At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.

4. Licensed by the State in Speech-Language Pathology.

5. Current BLS for healthcare providers certification upon hire and maintain current.
