Children’s Minister

College Heights Baptist Church is a vibrant congregation looking to build a Christ-centered children’s ministry. We are seeking a children’s pastor to lead and support children as they grow in Jesus Christ.

The ideal candidate will have a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and love children and families, and have a desire to grow the kingdom of God through children’s ministry. You will work closely with the Senior Pastor to develop and implement children’s curriculum and coordinate volunteers and events. You main goal is to develop children into Christ’s followers and develop a deep passion for God and his kingdom.

Key Responsibilities

Lead children’s ministry through Sunday morning and Wednesday evening Bible study, worship and Bible-based activities.

Develop or organize curriculum to fit the needs of children for spiritual growth.

Develop and support a team to implement all children’s activities.

Communicate with church staff, parents, and community in a way that promotes the gospel and the vision of children’s ministry.

Represent the children’s ministry to the church and community.

Schedule events and activities that grow and develop children and fosters a gospel-centered approach.

Implement and enforce child safety and protection policies to ensure a safe and secure environment for kids.

Engage community to reach out to children and families outside the church.

Manage the budget and resources allocated to children’s ministry so that it aligns with the vision of College Heights Baptist Church.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in theology, Christian education, or significance experience working with children and families in a ministry context.

A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Passion for disciplining children and families within the church.

Strong organizational, administrative and leadership skills that foster a team environment.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective communication strategies with parents.

Knowledge of child safety procedures to create a safe and secure environment for kids.
