Role: Life Science Product Manager
Reports to: Product Management Director

The Life Sciences Product Manager plays a vital role in driving growth and supporting the strategic direction across assigned life sciences product portfolios. This position focuses on expanding and optimizing the product portfolio, aligning with revenue, margin, and customer satisfaction objectives. This role includes developing go-to-market strategies, managing product lifecycles, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure product success. Building strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal teams is key to identifying opportunities for innovation and supporting product initiatives.
What will you do:
- Drive revenue growth by sourcing new products and resourcing current products to strengthen Genesee Scientific’s competitive position
- Negotiate agreements, including private label and contract terms, to expand proprietary and exclusive products for the business
- Track and analyze sales, gross profit, and other metrics, making adjustments to achieve product line goals
- Develop pricing strategies by channel to optimize margins and support overall portfolio goals
- Define product positioning, pricing, and go-to-market strategies based on market trends, customer needs, and competitor analysis
- Gather Voice of the Customer (VOC) insights to inform new product development and launch strategies
- Manage operational processes for new product introductions and product lifecycle management, including product setup, data management, cross-functional coordination, and phase-in/phase-out planning to ensure seamless market availability and alignment with business objectives
- Work with Sales, Marketing, and other teams to achieve revenue, margin, and growth targets
- Forecasting & Budgeting: Support sales forecasting and budget planning, building financial models for product launches
- Train go-to-market teams on product features and benefits, providing ongoing customer support
- Documentation & Tools: Assist in creating user documentation and sales tools to communicate product benefits
- Market Analysis: Monitor competitor activities and market trends to identify product differentiation opportunities
- Research & Strategy: Conduct market research to guide product development and align with Genesee Scientific’s goals
Requirements
What will you bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of product management and distribution experience, preferably in life sciences or related fields
- Proven ability to translate customer needs into product requirements and guide development
- Contract negotiations with detailed and complex terms in such areas as pricing, delivery, support and services
- Develop strategies with Sales and Marketing Communications to drive market share growth
- Develops and implements appropriate and effective pricing strategies by channel to maximize the end-to-end margin
- Monitors and analyzes sales, gross profits, and other metrics for the product lines making any necessary adjustments in the product line plans to meet goals and objectives
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Teams, strong excel skills, experience with other business management software is a plus
- Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Works efficiently within deadlines
- Willingness to travel up to 25%
