MS Campus Secretary Location Texas : Pay Grade: Paraprofessional 060 salary schedule (225 days) JOB GOAL : Facilitate the efficient operation of the school administrative office and provide clerical services for the school's administrative staff. QUALIFICATIONS : High School Diploma or GED SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS : Knowledge of general office equipment Knowledge of basic accounting principles Proficient skills in typing, word processing, and file maintenance Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to operate computer/peripherals using a variety of basic applications Ability to effectively use district programs with reasonable assistance Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate preferred EXPERIENCE : Three (3) years clerical/secretarial experience or other equivalent experience or background. MAJOR PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES : 1. Assist students, teachers, and parents as needed. 2. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and schedule appointments. 3. Perform accounting tasks following established district guidelines including, but not limited to, those related to budget, textbooks, fixed assets, requisitions, purchase orders 4. Manage student and campus activity accounts as required 5. Keep accurate records of staff absences and substitutes used 6. Monitor, process and submit personnel payroll reports to central office as required 7. Manage office personnel in daily activities as needed or directed 8. Assist in compiling information to be used in various administrative reports 9. Maintain the scheduled use of building and make requests for appropriate heating/cooling 10. Maintain confidentiality 11. Remain informed of and comply with state, district, and school policies or regulations concerning primary job functions EQUIPMENT USED : Telephone, computer/peripherals, typewriter, copier, calculator, and facsimile WORKING CONDITIONS : Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors : Maintain emotional control and objectivity under stress Perform tasks with frequent interruptions Repetitive hand motions Prolonged use of computer Communicate effectively (verbal and written) Occasional in-district travel _____________________________________________________________________________________________ The foregoing statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned to this job and are not an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills that may be required.
