JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Cash Receipts Representative performs basic accounting and clerical functions, including data record entry and communications related to collection, and reconciliation of revenue received by Lakewood Church and Joel Osteen Ministries. It requires familiarity with the operations and the objectives of internal reconciliation relative to Cash Receipts.

This position reports to the Cash Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

• Reconciles cash receipts received in various forms of payments
• Prepares cash deposits and arranges for deposits with Financial Institutions in accordance with company policy
• Compiles data, generates, and reviews distribution reports
• Works with other members of the accounting department to ensure that all cash deposits are accounted for and processed correctly
• Prepares weekly deposits for armored services pick-up
• Sorts through mail and ensures it is sent to the bank accordingly
• Processes all bank returned items & performs a reconciliation
• Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Uncompromised commitment to Lakewood Church’s vision, values, and core beliefs
• Basic knowledge of general accounting principles, practices, and procedures
• Basic knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Strong attention to detail and thoroughness
• Ability to work independently and with a team, in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
• Maintain confidentiality of all records
• Ability to move around frequently throughout the building*
• Ability to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 20lbs regularly*
• Prior experience with Finance & Operations preferred

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• HS Diploma or GED required
• Some College Coursework in Accounting, Finance, or General Business or 1+ years of recent related experience in accounting or related field
