NIKA is hiring for a MARS Drawing Support Technician to support the Defense Health Agency’s (DHA) Engineering Division in San Antonio, TX.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform duties of roles and responsibilities defined below as assigned by DHA Engineering

Assists MTF facility managers in the organization and updating of building drawings, plans and master plans.

Supports and follows DHA defined file and technical standardized naming

Upload and maintain in MARS database the 100% Issued For Construction design documents as well as red-lined As-Built or final Record Drawing construction documents.

Produce Record Drawings by updating 100% IFC files with red-lined As-Built drawing submission if not provided by the construction contractor.

Performs updates remotely using a combination of phone, web conference, email, fax, for all changes of less than 5,000 square feet in a single contiguous building.

Updates existing Fire Protection / Life Safety drawings to reflect as-built conditions and any changes made through additions, moves, modifications, etc. Elements include, but are not limited to: Life Safety drawings, fire plans, egress drawings, and related details; Updates the fire protection layer with all the components of the fire protection system, including control panels, heat detectors, smoke detectors, pull and push stations, egress lighting, fire extinguisher locations, sprinkler head location, and smoke/fire dampers from as-built drawings.

Updates existing Architectural infrastructure and architectural elements of as-built drawings to reflect changes made through additions, moves, modifications, architectural design elements include, but are not limited to: exterior walls, interior walls, windows, partitions, stairwells, elevators, casework, doors, door swings. Placement of associated text such as RPIE asset numbers, room number, area, finishes, and room name are also part of the basic architectural scope in accordance with DHA policies and procedures.

Validate project room information changes in compliance with Medical Health Systems Space Planning Criteria.

Update DMLSS/LogiCole system with required room information per DHA-FE standard operating procedures and policies for projects.

Uploads and links drawing elements to DMLSS/LogiCole

Performs all drawing work in the current version of Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, and other similar engineering design software in accordance with DHA defined policy and procedures and AEC standards.

Required Qualifications:

Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD) from an institution or a certificate in Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD) from a technical college.

Demonstrate minimum of two (2) years documented experience with Autodesk and/or comparable computer aided design software.

Must be a U.S. citizen

Ability to obtain security clearance is required.
