Traveling Modular Installation Specialist
About the Role
As a Modular Installation Specialist at Hayes Modular based out of Austin, TX , you will play a key role in the installation, assembly, and repair of modular structures across the United States. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, thrives in a fast-paced and travel-intensive environment, and takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.
This position involves extensive travel - approximately 85% of the time - and requires working 50–60 hours per week on-site at various project locations throughout the US. It offers the opportunity to gain diverse construction experience while collaborating with skilled teams across multiple states.
This job pays an hourly rate , with per diem , overtime pay , and all travel, tools, and lodging provided by the company.

What You’ll Do
· Assist in modular installation, assembly, and repairs at construction sites – ensures projects are completed to specifications and within deadlines.
· Operate and maintain tools and heavy machinery – ensures safety and efficiency by keeping all equipment in proper working condition.
· Identify and troubleshoot installation issues – resolves problems quickly to minimize delays and maintain quality standards.
· Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and quality expectations – works effectively to ensure timely project completion.
· Follow blueprints, detailed instructions, and safety protocols – ensures all installations meet specifications and regulatory compliance.
· Communicate progress, material needs, and issues with supervisors – keeps project leadership informed for efficient coordination.
· Lead and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and Company policy.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
· Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in a construction setting, preferably involving modular or industrial assembly.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Demonstrated experience operating or working around heavy machinery and power tools.
· Strong knowledge of modular construction methods, blueprint reading, and installation procedures.
· Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
· Commitment to safety awareness and adherence to construction safety protocols.
· Ability and willingness to travel up to 85% of the time across the U.S. Physical Abilities
· Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds and push or pull loads of up to 50 pounds.
· Strong balance, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
· Ability to stand for long periods and meet visual and auditory acuity requirements. What You’ll Get
