Position Wax Specialist

Position Summary:

Come join our fun, energetic, positive culture at Bergamos Retreat. We are seeking a Wax Specialist to provide waxing and related services to clients. In this role, your responsibilities are to communicate with clients to discuss their needs and preferences, as well as learn about any sensitive skin or allergy issues. You must know when to use the right equipment. Our ideal client has an esthetician or cosmetology license gained from attending a trade school, as well as experience providing waxing services to clients in a professional setting. Knowledge of other skincare and beauty treatments is a plus.

Core Responsibilities :

• Discuss client needs and preferences
• Wax various body parts, including areas of the face, back, legs, arms, and bikini
• Use the right equipment and ensure it is sanitary for each use
• Provide other skincare services and beauty treatments as needed

• Make recommendations for future treatments and pre-book follow-up appointments
• Inform guests about specials in all departments, holiday gifts, packages, and anything that might correspond to their needs
• Recommend skincare products to customers, including lotions, facial washes, and moisturizers
• Keep personal relationships to a minimum with the clients to focus on treatment
• Complete all services within the standard time frames
• Continue to improve your techniques by reading, experiencing, training, and watching.
• Research past experiences your guest has had so that you may better serve them
• Take detailed client history and note any health conditions
• Maintain professional tools
• Promote a positive atmosphere and come to work with a smile
• Immediately report guest belongings that have been left behind
• Assist with laundry
• Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies:

• State Cosmetology or Esthetician License must be up to date
• High work ethic and self-initiative
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a talent making people feel comfortable and better about themselves
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property

• State esthetician or cosmetologist license
• Experience with and knowledge of various waxing techniques and equipment
• Attention to detail
• Communication and interpersonal skills

Physical Requirements:

• Thoroughly and efficiently perform services to clients
• Sit, stand, and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods of time
• Lift approximately thirty (30) pounds of equipment or supplies, using safe lifting techniques
• Grasping, writing, repetitive motions, pulling, pushing, listening, hearing ability and visual ability
