Graduate Design Engineer

This position provides engineered solutions for BU Installation Systems or BU Oglaend Systems (Support Systems) via development of structural calculations and CAD drawings:
1.) To create original designs
2.) Convert competitive designs and specifications to Support Systems
3.) Provide technical answers to questions related to Support Systems portfolio
All done in accordance with establishing engineering workflows.

What You'll do

• Assist in preparing design calculation packages, construction drawings and specifications.
• Utilize software (Profis MSE, RSTAB, RISA, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Revit) and internal technical data to design Support Systems in accordance with applicable code and/or Hilti standards.
• Attain and maintain global Design Engineer I certification.
• Work under guidance on applications outlined by Engineering Center of Excellence (ECE) Lead Engineer, Team Lead or Sr. Manager.
• Follow company standards, engineering best practices and safety guidelines.
• Track and log project hours in accordance with workflow standards (Click Up).
• Other Duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required – Architectural or Civil Engineering discipline, preferred
• Minimum zero (0) to one (1) year of engineering experience or relevant internships, preferred
• Aptitude to read and understand blueprints, construction specifications, and documents required
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and Hilti personnel through verbal and written response required
• Ability to effectively use MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Bluebeam and Acrobat PDF required
• Ability to organize and utilize large amounts of reference information both in hardcopy and electronic files required
• Ability to identify, analyze, and solve technical problems required
• Ability to function effectively on teams required
• Working knowledge of industry related construction methods and practices preferred
• Familiarity with BIM software such as Navisworks, AutoCAD and REVIT preferred
• Familiarity with structural analysis programs (e.g. RSTAB, RISA, Mathcad, STAAD) preferred
• Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred
• Less than 5% domestic travel, required
