Description
Our Church: Crestwood, a Southern Baptist Church, is a connected community that produces disciples who gather regularly for vibrant worship, dispersing into the communities of Southeast Texas and beyond sharing life. We are looking for a Worship Pastor who pairs musical competency with a passion for building engagement of the body and leads out of the overflow of his personal worship.
Located on US Hwy 69 between Lumberton and Kountze, Texas, our community is growing with the expansion of the petrochemical industry in the area. We are home to the Big Thicket and have access to creeks, lakes, and beaches well within driving distance. There is a strong sense of community with an abundance of school spirit and support for local churches.
Our campus includes a gym/fellowship hall, updated children’s building, youth space under renovation and a freshly updated worship center with modern audiovisual systems and 650 seat capacity.
Our full-time ministerial staff includes Senior Pastor, Student Pastor, Children’s Director and the posted Worship Pastor position. It is very much a team environment.
Our worship ministry team currently involves over 80 volunteers across the disciplines, and large productions in the past have pulled in another 60. All leadership and volunteers participate in Ministry Safe Training and background checks.

Typical worship service attendance is 350-400 with blended music.

This Position
The Worship Pastor directs all areas of the music and worship ministry, engaging others to help them experience God’s presence and implementing the tools necessary for a successful ministry. He is called to lead with spiritual depth, musical competency and technology savvy. He must function well within a team environment (staff and congregation) and inspire people to active involvement in the ministries of the church.
He must meet the New Testament qualifications of eldership and operate effectively in a team ministry environment.

Pastoral Ministry
*Assist in conducting regular worship services and other special services.
*Provide hospital and crisis ministry visitation.
*Offer pastoral counseling as needed.
*Disciple ministry volunteers corporately. Provide personal discipleship and mentorship where called.

Professional Ministry Staff Team Member
*Communicate and collaborate in the planning and implementation of the total church program.
*Serve as assigned in place of other staff members when temporary needs arise.
*Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the senior pastor.

Focus Area – Music and Worship
*Plan, implement and supervise a comprehensive music ministry program that advances the overall goals of the church: Praise Team, Special Music, Choir, Drama, Worship Technology and Special Events.
*Enlist and employ the talents within the church to participate in the ministry.
*Oversee and coordinate all volunteers, including musicians, audiovisual and multimedia technicians. Conduct training programs as needed.
*Upkeep musical and technical equipment.
*Attend deacons meetings and committee meetings to advise regarding the music ministry.
*Develop the budget for the music and worship ministry.

Qualifications
*Spiritual depth: follower of Jesus Christ, exhibiting a growing relationship and spiritual maturity, discernment in music, doctrinally sound.
*Calling: passion for the ministry and people, exhibits the requirements for elders found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9.
*Leadership: organizational and interpersonal skills, communication, passion, work ethic
*Team Player/ Team Builder: patient, open and collaborative; flexible and able to bridge generations; continual learner
*Musical Competency: able to lead bands in a variety of styles; instrumentalist; music theory, choral knowledge; stays current
*Technical Savvy: proficiency in worship technology, general digital proficiency, willingness and ability to learn
*Experience: 3 years minimum in music/worship ministry
*Bachelors degree from an accredited institution preferred
