Weekend Church Receptionist

JOB SUMMARY
The Church Receptionist is responsible for a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to include answering phones, screening, and transferring calls, greeting visitors, handling emails and social media interactions, and assisting in customer service initiatives across all departments and ministries. The Church Receptionist serves as a point of contact in the absence of the Front Desk Administrator.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Professionally answer, screen, and transfer all incoming calls on a multi-line phone system.
- Provide detailed messages to recipients in a timely manner
- Respond to inquiry emails and general social media questions
- Greet visitors and members in a professional and friendly manner. Determine the nature and purpose of the visit and direct or escort them to their desired destinations
- Provide information about CBC, such as CBC's beliefs, doctrinal statements, membership requirements, location, fax numbers, mailing address, ministries, and church events
- Other duties as assigned

- Must possess intermediate computer skills using basic applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and internet browsing.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a part-time position. Days and hours of operation are scheduled Friday- Sunday on a hybrid work schedule.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to do the following:
- Must have good or corrected vision as well as effective peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must have good manual dexterity and be able to use repetitive motion of the hands and arms
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time
- Must be able to move about inside the office and storage rooms to perform a variety of tasks
- Must be able to frequently and effectively communicate in both written and verbal form
- Must be able to frequently lift 15 pounds and/or push/pull objects up to 50 pounds
- Occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- At least 3 years of work experience in a clerical/administrative support position
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in a hybrid setting where the work and general environment may be fast-paced and hectic at times. Therefore, it is essential that the employee can effectively handle the normal anxieties associated with the job and manage multiple projects in a service-oriented environment. Environmental noise levels are minimal.
