Job Summary:

SPL is growing and is currently looking for a Business Development Representative in Houston, TX. The Business Development Representative will be team oriented, proactive and goal driven. This position is a full-time remote position responsible for helping to develop new business as well as sustain and grow existing customer relationships within their assigned region and/or territory. The Senior Sales Representative will also actively demonstrate their understanding of the competitive landscape, testing protocols, and opportunities for market expansion at SPL.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Achieve assigned revenue targets in each service line by winning new customers as well as selling incremental business with current clients;
  • Using local and/or SPL institutional knowledge, research and make contact with prospective and existing accounts within assigned region;
  • Develop on-going business relationships with prospective and current buyers within assigned territory to promote the value, differentiators, and availability of all regional SPL services and/or products;
  • Work with local buyers to address and resolve all issues and needs;
  • Research, understand, and document the competitive regional landscape for each product line;
  • Assume extreme account ownership, leveraging regional service team(s) (Ops/Lab Managers, etc.) and corporate resources (Executives, Marketing, C-Suite, etc.) to close new business opportunities;
  • Successfully manage sales transitions for all projects to appropriate Project Managera and/or Regional Managers;
  • Provide supporting documentation and tracking using Sales tools (Salesforce.com, Gong, etc);
  • Utilize LinkedIn to track contacts, connect with new leads/opportunities, and support SPL brand recognition on a weekly basis;
  • Develop strategies to grow revenue & EBITDA for designated product lines;
  • Support the retention of existing business as needed;
  • Support the sales efforts of others as needed;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years of successful sales experience in a relevant or similar market within industry;
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in the oil & gas and/or environmental industries;
  • Previous liquid services, gas services, and/or laboratory services sales experience strongly preferred;
  • Professional selling certification and/or industry experience a plus;
  • High computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite, and Salesforce.com);
  • Experience from previous roles requiring communication-centric, networking/lead generation, relationship building skills;
  • Experience using LinkedIn to track contacts and connect with new leads and opportunities;
  • Experience working with and communicating (written & verbal) to customer leadership & executive level personnel;
  • Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to remain objective in adverse situations with a high level of personal and business ethics.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree or commensurate experience required.

Travel Requirements:

This position requires daily travel within the assigned sales territory as well as some occasional out-of-town and/or overnight travel for regional and industry events.

Work Schedule:

This fully remote position is based out of SPL's Houston office and works 8 hours Monday through Friday.
