Logistics Manager

Position Summary
The Logistics Manager oversees daily operations of the company’s vehicle fleet and driver compliance programs. This role is responsible for route planning, vehicle acquisition and maintenance, regulatory adherence, and driver onboarding. A successful Logistics Manager demonstrates leadership, technical understanding of transportation logistics, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. In addition, this position requires maintaining an active DOT medical card, as the Logistics Manager serves as a final resort relief driver when operational needs arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and ensure driver compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Develop and manage transportation routes to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Monitor driver performance and support adherence to safe driving standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date licensure, registration, and insurance for all vehicles.
- Coordinate with sales and warehouse teams for deliveries and vendor pickups.
- Respond to delivery issues, delays, and customer concerns.
- Manage vehicle maintenance schedules, emergency repairs, and mechanical coordination.
- Evaluate vehicle condition and coordinate procurement of new fleet assets as needed.
- Process and investigate all vehicle-related incidents and accidents.
- Maintain and manage driver and vehicle insurance enrollment.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of Reasonable Suspicion Training.
- Maintains valid DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Basic mechanical knowledge to identify major repair needs.
- Competence in route planning, coordination, and basic data analysis.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.

Work Environment and Physical DemandsUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on the work environment. This position involves a mixture of office-based work and field inspections. Regular activities include sitting, standing, walking, operating vehicles, using hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds. This position requires the operation of standard office equipment and occasional exposure to vehicle maintenance areas.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements
To ensure safety and compliance, employees in this role are required to always wear steel-toe or composite safety shoes.
