Marketing & Communications Intern
The Marketing & Communications Intern will support Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch by developing and implementing a social media strategy that increases awareness of various programs and services. This summer internship is designed to provide hands‑on experience in strategic communications, digital marketing, and mission‑driven storytelling within a faith‑based nonprofit organization.
All work will support Cal Farley’s mission to provide professional programs and services in a Christ‑centered atmosphere that strengthen families and support the development of children. The intern will collaborate closely with the Marketing & Communications team to align recruitment messaging with organizational values, program integrity, and best practices in social media engagement.
JOB-SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.
2. Audits existing Cal Farley’s social media platforms related to assess current visibility and messaging.
3. Develops a social media strategy for Boys Ranch programs, including goals, target audiences, content themes, and recommended platforms.
4. Creates a content calendar and drafts platform‑ready content such as posts, captions, stories, reels/short‑form videos, and basic graphics.
5. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, respectful, and mission‑aligned messaging.
6. Assists with publishing and campaign execution following established guidelines for posting cadence and engagement.
7. Monitors basic performance metrics (reach, engagement, clicks, and inquiries) and summarizes results.
8. Provides recommendations for improving future social media and marketing efforts.
9. Assists with other Marketing & Communications projects as assigned.
Requirements
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
1. Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field from an accredited university.
2. Strong written communication, organizational, and creative skills.
3. Familiarity with major social media platforms and content trends.
4. Experience with social media planning, scheduling, or content creation preferred.
5. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
6. Interest in nonprofit communications and mission‑driven storytelling.
7. Must be at least 18 years of age.
