ICU - Registered Nurse, Charge

Yoakum Community Hospital is seeking a dedicated and leadership-oriented Registered Charge Nurse to join our clinical team. Functioning under the direction of the Department Director you will perform safe, effective clinical care while overseeing unit operations. We are open to full-time and PRN candidates.

In this role, you will balance administrative oversight with hands-on patient care, ensuring unit efficiency, fostering a collaborative team environment, and upholding our core values of R.I.S.E. Serving as a Charge Nurse, you will be a vital resource for your peers and a primary advocate for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Leadership: Coordinate and manage the activities of RNs, LVNs, Nurse Aides, and Unit Secretaries.
• Patient Assessment: Complete RN admission databases within 24 hours and perform regular rounds to adjust care plans based on patient condition.
• Emergency & Acute Care: Maintain readiness to handle clinical interventions and demonstrate competency in procedures across various patient age groups.
• Advocacy & Communication: Act as a patient advocate, ensuring effective communication between families, practitioners, and the healthcare team.
• Documentation & Quality: Ensure all nursing interventions, patient responses, and drug information are documented accurately in accordance with HIPAA and standards of practice.
• Unit Efficiency: Manage the utilization of manpower, equipment, and supplies to maintain high-quality care and unit flow.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Current RN License issued by the Texas Board of Nursing.
• Active Certifications: Must maintain BLS (CPR), ACLS, and PALS.
