Overview
STN is seeking a Security Director to lead physical security operations at a critical infrastructure facility in Odessa, Texas. In this role, you'll be responsible for developing and overseeing site security programs that protect personnel, facilities, and assets while ensuring compliance with client requirements and regulatory standards. You'll lead onsite security teams, manage incident response and risk mitigation efforts, and partner with client leadership and external agencies to maintain a safe, secure, and resilient operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

Security Leadership & Operations
  • Direct all onsite physical security operations for a critical infrastructure facility.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and operational standards that align with client requirements and industry best practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop onsite security personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management for the security team.
Risk Management & Incident Response
  • Lead investigations into security incidents, coordinate response efforts, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Conduct ongoing security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement effective mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain emergency response, crisis management, and business continuity procedures to ensure operational readiness.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, client, and regulatory security requirements.
Client Partnership & Program Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client leadership regarding all security operations.
  • Build strong working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency response agencies.
  • Prepare and present operational reports, security metrics, and risk assessments to internal and client stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve security processes, technology, and operational effectiveness while supporting STN’s commitment to reliable, secure operations.

Experience & Qualifications

Required
  • Current State of Texas Commissioned Security Officer License (Level III) or the ability to obtain certification immediately upon hire.
  • 15-20 years of progressively responsible experience across diverse physical security roles, including leadership positions.
  • 4-5 years of recent experience supporting or leading security operations at a critical infrastructure facility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing physical security programs, investigations, access control, emergency response, and risk management.
  • Experience leading and developing security teams in complex operational environments.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, clients, and external agencies.
Preferred
  • Prior federal law enforcement experience strongly preferred.
  • Former military service, particularly in security, force protection, or leadership roles.
  • Experience supporting oil and gas, energy, or other critical infrastructure operations.
Work Environment
This is a full-time, on-site position. Schedules may include evenings or weekends to support emergency response.

Compensation

  • Full-Time, Exempt
  • $135,000-$160,000/year, DOE
