About Neighborhood SushiNeighborhood Sushi delivers Japanese-inspired cuisine in a casual yet elevated setting, blending Japanese technique, Texas flavors, and Austin hospitality. This role is part of the opening team , offering the opportunity to help shape service standards, team culture, and the guest experience from day one.
The RoleWe are seeking a hospitality-driven Front of House Manager to join the opening team at Neighborhood Sushi. This role is responsible for leading daily service, supporting team development, and ensuring a warm, polished, and consistent guest experience.
The ideal candidate is a confident floor leader who thrives in opening environments, enjoys coaching teams in real time, and understands how thoughtful service, pacing, and communication elevate the entire dining experience.
What You’ll DoPre-Opening & Training
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training the opening FOH team.
Help develop service standards, steps of service, and training materials.
Participate in mock services, tastings, and soft opening preparation.
Support opening systems including reservations, seating flow, and floor plans.
Service Leadership
Lead shifts on the floor, ensuring smooth service and guest satisfaction.
Coach servers, hosts, and support staff in real time.
Maintain strong communication between FOH and BOH teams.
Handle guest feedback and resolve service issues with professionalism and care.
Team Development & Culture
Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable work environment.
Support ongoing training and development for FOH team members.
Model hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Operations & Standards
Ensure cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all FOH spaces.
Support scheduling, labor efficiency, and shift execution.
Uphold all health, safety, and compliance standards.
Assist the GM and AGM with operational initiatives and reporting.
Passion for Hospitality: A genuine love for service and creating memorable guest experiences.
Leadership Experience: Previous FOH management or supervisory experience in an upscale or high-volume restaurant.
Service Knowledge: Strong understanding of service flow, guest engagement, and floor dynamics.
Communication Skills: Clear, confident communication with guests, peers, and leadership.
Opening Mindset: Comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments and excited to build from the ground up.
Experience: Minimum of two years of FOH management or supervisory experience preferred.
Language Skills: English proficiency required; Spanish a plus.
