Schedule: Pre-mobilization preparation followed by a 12-day August field session; anticipated long-term work beginning in November

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Archaeological Project Coordinator to support a large cultural resource survey for a power-generation and data-center development outside Fort Stockton, Texas. The full project area encompasses approximately 90,000 acres.
The Project Coordinator will support pre-mobilization planning and oversee field logistics for approximately 50 field technicians, 10 crew leads and multiple field vehicles. The initial August session will cover approximately 7,000–10,000 acres over 12 days. Work is expected to resume in November and continue for approximately seven to eight months.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate project mobilization, staffing, scheduling and field logistics
- Determine and communicate the number of preparation days needed before field deployment
- Assist with crew assignments and coordination of field technicians and crew leads
- Coordinate lodging, rental vehicles, equipment and other project resources
- Track personnel, hotel rooms, vehicles, work schedules and field rotations
- Work with project leadership to establish daily production and survey goals
- Monitor field progress across multiple crews and address scheduling or logistical issues
- Maintain communication among project management, crew chiefs and administrative teams
- Track overtime, staffing changes and mobilization or demobilization needs
- Help ensure field activities remain aligned with project scope, safety requirements and client expectations
- Support quality control of field records, progress reports and project documentation as needed
- Assist with planning for the anticipated long-term phase beginning in November
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in archaeology, anthropology or a related field preferred
- Extensive archaeological field and CRM project experience
- Previous experience as a Project Coordinator, Field Director, Project Archaeologist or similar leader
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple crews on large, complex surveys
- Experience managing staffing, lodging, vehicles, equipment and field schedules
- West Texas, New Mexico or broader Southwest project experience strongly preferred
- Strong organizational, leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage changing field conditions and competing priorities
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to the project area
Project Schedule
The selected coordinator should be available for pre-mobilization planning before the initial 12-day August field session. Applicants should indicate how many preparation days they recommend before fieldwork begins. The project is expected to resume in November, tentatively following a 10-days-on, four-days-off schedule with 10-hour workdays for approximately seven to eight months.
