We are looking for an experienced Arbor Production Manager to oversee daily tree care operations, coordinate crew schedules, and maintain exceptional safety and quality standards. This position calls for a hands-on leader who is comfortable working in the field, communicates effectively, and prioritizes efficiency, customer satisfaction, and team growth. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in arboriculture and a strong commitment to leading and developing high-performing crews.
Responsibilities:
Project & Operations Management
• Manage daily work scope, ensuring all projects meet budget, timeline, and quality goals
• Coordinate with the Production Coordinator to align scheduling, equipment, and project backlog
• Track and verify completion of daily tasks and field activities
• Conduct regular jobsite visits to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards
• Perform tree assessments and generate bids using CRM systems
• Support the Project Manager and Estimator with large-scale site inventories
Safety & Compliance • Ensure daily tailgate meetings and jobsite hazard assessments are conducted by Crew Leads
• Enforce proper use, care, and storage of company equipment and vehicles
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory and company safety requirements
• Lead by example in the safe operation of all arboricultural equipment and machinery
• Conduct and demonstrate safe tree climbing practices, including aerial rescue readiness
• Oversee the proper application of chemicals in accordance with state regulations
Team Leadership & Labor Management • Provide direct supervision of two or more field employees
• Assign, plan, and direct daily crew activities and jobsite responsibilities
• Onboard and train new employees in climbing, equipment, safety, and company procedures
• Monitor employee timekeeping and approve timesheets for timely payroll submission
• Identify staff needs and take corrective action in hiring, coaching, or termination, with communication to the District Manager
Customer Service & Communication • Serve as liaison between the Arbor Division and internal/external clients
• Address issues proactively and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
• Represent Monarch professionally on job sites and in client communications
Supervisory Responsibilities • Supervise, mentor, and support field staff on technical and safety practices
• Conduct employee performance evaluations and identify training needs
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence
Qualifications:
Education & Experience • 3–5 years of hands-on professional tree care experience
• 1–3 years of project or crew management experience
Language & Communication Skills • Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Strong interpersonal skills when addressing team members and clients
Mathematical & Business Acumen • Ability to calculate rigging loads and equipment needs for tree removals
• Understands cost estimating, unit pricing, and how gross margin is impacted by field operations
Reasoning & Problem Solving • Ability to apply common sense and make sound field decisions
• Adaptable to changing situations with minimal guidance
Licenses & Certifications • Valid driver’s license (Class C)
• ISA Certified Arborist (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
• ISA Certified Tree Worker (preferred)
• CPR/First Aid certification (required)
• TCIA Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
Skills and Knowledge Requirements • Expert knowledge of tree pruning, removal, cabling, and disease/pest ID
• Proficient in advanced climbing, rigging, knots, and aerial rescue
• Familiar with hazard recognition and emergency procedures
• Skilled in the use and instruction of all arboricultural equipment
• Strong administrative ability: safety documentation, equipment tracking, and purchase orders
• Proven leadership capabilities and employee development experience
