VITA Quality Reviewer
: Description: Mission: The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide for the needs of our community through selfless service under the sign of love. Summary: The VITA Quality Reviewer is responsible for ensuring that all returns prepared meet the quality requirements of the program. Quality Reviewers review each tax return completed by the tax preparer, correct errors, and provide substantive tax knowledge and guidance.
Position Responsibilities:
- Become IRS Certified at the Advanced level and specialty certifications to assist with tax preparation
- Reviews all tax information for relevance, accuracy, and completion
- Initiates and completes the Intake/Interview Quality Review form with each assigned taxpayer
- Review tax return with taxpayer
- May assist the Site Coordinator with the transmittal of tax returns on a daily basis
- Ensures compliance with federal IRS rules and regulations.
- Assist with taxpayer requests and inquiries.
- Assist in providing a variety of duties involved in supporting the administrative operations of assigned VITA site.
- Responsible for assisting the Site Coordinator in transmitting each tax return completed using the Tax Slayer filing system.
- Must be able to work weekends.
- Follow and uphold the Volunteer Standard of Conduct set forth by the IRS.
- Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner.
- Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization including but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors' names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Requirements:Minimum Qualifications:
- Education
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience in preparing taxes with at least 1 year of experience in TaxSlayer Software and/or customer service experience.
- License and Credentials
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Valid vehicle liability insurance
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
- Must be at least 21
- Minimum of 1 year experience in customer service including computer skills, basic mathematics, and processing skills;
- Extensive working knowledge of basic tax law, IRS Guidelines, and time management;
- Experience with computer software and 10 key skills (i.e., TaxSlayer_ software preferred);
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and work well independently and on a team;
- Must have good written and verbal skills;
- Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with the public, volunteers, and staff

Travel requirements for the position include __0__% local and __0__% overnight.
