Director of Sales US - Construction

Brandt is currently seeking a US Sales Director - Construction Sales for Brandt Equipment Solutions. This position is responsible for developing, managing, and supporting sustained and profitable growth in sales of Brandt products for Brandt’s construction dealer network. This would have a heavy focus on our purpose-built material handler and full line of construction attachments. There is also a fit with this dealer & customer base to sell Brandt’s full trailer lineup, Hydroexcavating Trucks and Hi- Rail Modification kits. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing the sales, market share, and profitability in the given geographical area.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • First line of contact for the Dealer
  • Ensure all Dealers are capable of handling the Brandt product line.
  • Participate with US Sales Director development and implementing plans for growing Brandt sales with dealers. The Candidate will also work with Brandt’s team of Product Specialist and Directors for each product category.
  • Lead and Manager a field team of dedicated construction territory sales managers.
  • Help product sales growth by providing a high level of product, application, industry, customer and competitor knowledge to Brandt’s engineering, product planning and manufacturing teams.
  • Coordinate and participate in delivering ongoing local product knowledge and application training for regional sales and dealer sales teams as scheduled.
  • Driving Sales for Brandt attachments targeting John Deere Construction dealers but also looking outside the John Deere Dealer Channel.
  • Material Handler/ scrap industry experience is a key qualifier Brandt is looking for in this position.
  • Research and track competitor product pricing levels, activities, programs and tactics.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to ensure Brandt’s pricing, programs and marketing strategies are positioned to penetrate new markets and grow existing markets profitably.
  • Identify product development opportunities that promote differentiation, enhance market penetration, and deliver increased profit opportunities for Brandt.
  • Provide insights into and input on the right mix of inventory to achieve sales and profitability goals as per Trailer business objectives for various product categories.
  • Work with Brandt marketing to create customer productivity feature benefits in our marketing to show Brandt’s competitive advantage.
  • Assist product line asset management goals on turns and aging as well as protection of company assets.
  • Participate in end customer visits with the sales teams as required.
  • Extensive travel throughout the region network sometimes alongside Brandt’s sales teams to actively support direct visits with both Brandt dealers and their customers (up to 3 weeks in a month) This is not a work from home position.
  • Establish a personal relationship with Dealers.
  • Ensure Dealers are educated on all aspects of Brandt Sales, Service and Finance
  • Assist Dealers with all sales and marketing opportunities which could include advertising, demonstrations, field days, open hours.
  • Provide input into Sales Program Development
  • Provide input into Product Development
  • Assist in coordinating trade shows and attending trade shows in their territory.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
  • Must have a strong working knowledge of Trailers.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills are a must.
  • Knowledge Trailer dealers would also be an asset.
  • Capable of basic computer skills, excel spreadsheets, outlook etc.
  • Aggressive team player, people person, self-starter and motivated towards goals.

Required Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sales and/or product or technical support knowledge and experience in heavy construction and forestry equipment working with manufacturers and/or dealers
  • Must be able to obtain a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • A recent drivers abstract will be required.
