Pay: $18 - $22 / hr

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Insurance Collector to support back-office operations. This role involves processing claims, resolving billing discrepancies, and ensuring timely collections from insurance providers. The position starts fully onsite, with the opportunity to transition to remote work after the initial training period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate and resolve insurance claim inquiries
- Research claim errors and correct them for accurate submission
- Follow up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement
- Review and process payment postings and reimbursement calculations
- Analyze insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and file appeals as needed
- Ensure compliance with billing and collection policies for assigned payers
- Work accounts in accordance with No Surprises Act guidelines
- Meet and exceed departmental goals set by management
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in medical collections required
- Strong knowledge of major insurance providers (BCBS, UHC, Aetna, Cigna, and self-funded plans)
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR), medical billing, and coding (ICD-10, CPT)
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and reimbursement policies
- Ability to analyze insurance claims and make critical decisions independently
Additional Details:
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (flexibility available; some shifts start at 6:30 AM or end at 6:30 PM)
- Work Environment: Back-office setting, transitioning to remote after 30-90 days based on performance
- Location: Houston, TX (on-site initially, equipment provided for remote work)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Dress Code: Business casual
