Job Summary

Agency 8 is partnering with an established equipment dealership to hire a Forklift Technician to support the inspection, maintenance, and repair of forklifts and material handling equipment. This role is based in the shop and is ideal for a mechanically inclined technician seeking long-term stability, hands-on technical work, and clear opportunities for career growth, including advancement into field service or other operational areas.

The ideal candidate brings experience working with forklifts, heavy equipment, automotive, or similar machinery, along with a strong work ethic, problem-solving mindset, and commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance on forklifts and material handling equipment within the shop
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with accuracy and efficiency
• Complete work orders, service reports, and documentation in a timely manner
• Conduct preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance
• Collaborate with the parts and service teams to ensure timely job completion
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
• Follow all safety protocols and company standards

Qualifications

• 1–3+ years of experience working on forklifts, heavy equipment, automotive, or related machinery
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of diesel, propane, and/or electric equipment
• Familiarity with hydraulic systems and electrical diagnostics preferred
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics, and technical documentation
• Valid driver’s license required
• Technical training or certifications are a plus, but not required
• Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to manage time effectively in a shop environment
• Good communication skills and a customer-service mindset
