Job Description

RRD is looking for an Accountant to join our team in Houston!

Job Summary

Maintain general ledger accounts and perform other accounting-related activities. He/She may plan, conduct, and participate in the basic analysis of cost assignments, ensuring that all assigned projects adhere to accepted cost accounting standards. Prepare management reports that measure performance against key objectives and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze accounts, records, reports, accounts receivable and payable, journal vouchers, general and subsidiary ledgers, and other accounting documents for accuracy and completeness.
  • Investigate and resolve accounting problems for the area of responsibility.
  • Preparing monthly financial information utilizing the applicable support systems.
  • Duties include preparing journal entries, coding invoices/vouchers, reconciling the balance sheet, and analyzing variances.
  • Maintain fixed asset and depreciation records.
  • May perform analyses of cost records to ascertain the distribution of costs for various divisions of management and production.
  • May classify labor, material, and overhead costs to compute unit costs of products or services.
  • Analyze actual costs versus standard costs and prepares reports of variances. Compile cost data for preparation of operating budgets.
  • Prepares other reports and assists in special projects and analysis as required or requested by supervisor.
  • Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
  • Assists in annual budget preparation and periodic forecasts
  • Supports internal customers by researching questions and investigating variances in the financial statements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Solve somewhat more complex problems by analyzing variables and applying appropriate solutions learned through experience and proficiency in understanding the job.
  • Must be able to recognize anomalies and critical situations and respond appropriately.
  • Must be able to communicate and interact with a variety of internal/external customers and/or coworkers at the level of detail required to resolve issues of moderate complexity.
  • High attention to detail, good organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, advanced formulas, VLookups, etc.
  • May require knowledge of or ability to quickly learn specialized software to complete work assignments.
  • Able to demonstrate continued expertise in the primary tools or applications used in completing daily work assignments.
  • Requires very good communication skills with the ability to state messages in a clear and concise manner for others to easily understand. Must be able to proactively listen to others to understand issues and situations.
  • Must be able to clearly articulate business needs to both internal and external customers.

Additional Information

The national pay range for this role is $59,100 - $89,800 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
