Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

• Location: Dallas, TX 75243 (Texas healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Cardiac Stepdown Unit / Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
• Assignment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: August 19, 2025
• End Date: November 18, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2000-$2050
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• EMR System: Meditech
• Scrubs: Provided for operating room staff

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in cardiac stepdown, CVOR, or cardiovascular surgery nursing
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Strong clinical skills in post-operative cardiac patient care
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Preferred: CNOR certification

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in cardiac stepdown and cardiovascular operating room settings
• Monitor and assess patients recovering from cardiovascular surgeries, including CABG, AVR, MVR, aortic replacements, vascular procedures, and heart transplants
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams (CSTs, ATs, PCTs)
• Document patient care using Meditech EMR system
• Participate in on-call rotation (45-minute response time required)
• Float to spine operating room as needed
• Follow facility protocols and maintain high standards of patient safety
