Director of Donor Engagement and Stewardship

Position Overview
To lead and execute the Engagement and Stewardship strategy for Austin PBS' principal donors. The Director of Donor Engagement and Stewardship will coordinate a comprehensive program that will ensure long-term support for the station. Director will report to the Chief Operating Officer. As a member of the senior development team, the Director of Donor Engagement and Stewardship works collaboratively and in shared responsibility with other development directors to ensure the achievement of Austin PBS's strategic goals and mission.
Responsibilities
- Develop stewardship strategies and plans that advance strategic relationships and contribute to the success of the major donor pipeline
- Work with mid-level donors to grow pipeline for Leadership Level donors - that will grow in portfolio of donors for this position
- Develop and initiate personalized communications with mid-level donors, in person, over the phone, or via correspondence that qualifies and cultivates them to increase their support to the Leadership Circle level
- Support COO and Development Team in Stewardship activities for all Austin PBS donors including donor visits, meetings, events and event invitation planning
- Support COO with board development committee and board member personal giving and strategy for their respective referrals
- Serve as a development team representative and key member of the team at fundraising and special events; working occasional evenings or weekends when donors are in attendance
- Maintain the contact reports and strategy for the COO's portfolio
- Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 7-10 years of experience in Development work
- Experience interacting directly with high level donors in a variety of settings
- Effective and professional communication skills
- Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to work independently AND collaboratively
- Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet competing deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading a Mid-Level Major gift program or donor group
- Experience supporting a Chief Development Officer and Executive Director
- Event experience from a wide range of formats, including smaller, more intimate events, to large, high level galas and dinners
- Experience with Raiser's Edge or other fundraising CRM a preference
- Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate
This is a full-time salaried position that is currently hybrid with an annual salary of $85,000
