About Houston

ExxonMobil's state-of-the-art campus north of Houston serves as home to its Upstream, Product Solutions and Low Carbon Solutions businesses and their associated service groups. The facility opened in 2014 and accommodates more than 10,000 employees and visitors.

What role you will play in our team

• Provides application technical expertise for base stocks and synthetics products and applications
• Works closely with business partners to extend technology leadership and enhance competitive advantage.
• Works closely with global and regional technical, sales, product management and marketing organizations to represent customer needs, and with customers & additive partners to deploy new products, applications and initiatives.

What you will do

• Provide global technical expertise for base stocks and synthetics products and applications
• Engage with additive companies to develop and deploy advantaged formulation approvals
• Work closely with business partners to extend technology leadership and enhance competitive advantage on base stocks synthetics products and applications
• Effectively present Basestocks & Synthetics technical offer to a diverse audience (technical & non-technical) of customer and industry participants.
• Provide value-in-use guidance to internal and external partners to enable value extraction.
• Identify and champion new business opportunities through development and / or deployment of new technologies
• Identify technical trends from customers, industry, and competition to define technical needs for optimal performance with ExxonMobil base stocks and synthetics products
• Engage with industry committees and associations to advocate for ExxonMobil priorities.
• Regularly influence business and industry trade association decisions
• Influence strategic global direction for Basestocks and Synthetics product applications, including current and future growth opportunities and potential collaboration with customers
• Provide innovative and value-added products, technology, and technical support
• Provide input into both the development and management of the Basestocks and Synthetics R&D portfolio
• Maximize business value by implementing best practices, toolkits, and work processes
• Develops and maintains formulation optimization and value demonstration tools.
• Mentor broadly across technology and business partners

About You

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in: Engineering, Chemistry or similar
• Functional/behavioral skill proficiencies consistent with the Job role requirements
• Broad expertise in base stocks & synthetics applications
• Ability to effectively relate customer and Basestocks and Synthetics needs and advocate for optimal solutions
• Excellent communication skills and business acumen
• Ability to effectively interact with customers, business partners and industry participants to enable solutions
