About the Role

The Programmer Analyst provides hands-on experience working with Java and other languages to contribute to real-world projects that support a variety of business objectives.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • One or more years of programming experience creating solutions that meet a business objective
  • Strong foundational knowledge of Java, including object-oriented programming principles, data structures, and algorithms
  • Understanding of SQL, relational databases and REST architecture is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve coding issues efficiently and effectively
  • Willingness to learn and work collaboratively with a team
  • Good verbal and written communications skills

Primary Duties

  • Write, test, and maintain code in Java for new software features and enhancements under the guidance of senior developers
  • Help identify and resolve bugs or performance issues in existing applications, ensuring software runs efficiently and meets user expectations
  • Work closely with software engineers, designers, and QA testers to implement new features, debug issues, and refine applications
  • Write unit tests to validate code functionality and participate in integration testing to ensure new features are properly integrated into the system
  • Assist in creating and maintaining technical documentation for internal use, including code comments, design specs, and user manuals

Physical Requirements

Must be physically fit enough to function safely on a project site and office setting. This includes the following:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer with repetitive movements.
  • Must be able to use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to navigate various departments of the organization's physical premises.
  • Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculators, and copiers.
  • Hearing, vision, and speaking within normal ranges are essential for normal conversations, receive ordinary information, and prepare or inspect documents.
  • Ability to communicate orally with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers.

Additional Requirements

  • Current driver's license, required.
  • Work on-site at a main office or project location, required
  • May be called after hours and on weekends to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other issues at the jobsite
  • May require travel
