Facilities and Events Coordinator

Facilities and Events Coordinator Location Houston, TX (Greater Memorial area) :

The Facilities and Events Coordinator provides staff supervision and facilities services to support school events and maintenance operations. This position coordinates activities related to event set-up and support, custodial services and general building maintenance and operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Communicate with Facilities management team to ensure daily department needs are met
• Supervise assigned staff, providing support and direction
• Provide support to school events including:
  • Checking all event set-ups daily
  • Communication with customers
  • Providing resources to support operations
  • Responding to unplanned needs as they arise
  • Provide “hands on” assistance when needed
• Provide custodial support to school including:
  • Making daily rounds
  • Assigning resources to handle routine needs
  • Communicating routine needs with contract housekeeping service
  • Ensuring team has necessary tools and supplies
• Perform clerical work including:
  • Processing data in the computerized work order system
  • Processing routine office work including calendars, invoices, schedules, etc.
  • Creating and working with word processing and spreadsheet documents
  • Assisting Facilities management team with various office functions
• Assist Facilities Management team as needed including:
  • Assisting with various facilities operations needs
  • Operating various building systems
  • Responding to campus emergencies
  • Assisting with carpool, campus security and traffic control

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the hospitality/service industry
• GED or high school diploma
• Bi-lingual preferred
• Experience with special event support is preferred
• Experience working in a school environment is preferred
• Working knowledge of Mac OS X operating system and MS Office software
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Proven ability to interact with a diverse community
