Senior Hydraulic & Electrical Systems Heavy Equipment Specialist

Location: Dayton, TX
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
Compensation: Up to $50.00/hour, based on experience and qualifications

A day in your week

Start your morning in our Dayton facility assessing a complex fault on a foundation construction rig. You’ll review hydraulic and electrical schematics, trace issues with a DVM, and isolate a CANbus signal anomaly. By mid-morning, you’ve completed preventative maintenance, fluid changes, and minor diesel adjustments on a second machine—meticulously documenting your work. After lunch, you head to a customer job site to complete a field repair, verify safe operation, and coach operators on best practices. You finish the day mentoring a junior tech, passing along hard-won tips that keep our fleet — and our customers — productive and safe.

How you’ll contribute

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and fuel systems on heavy construction equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, fluid services, and minor diesel engine repairs
• Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics to resolve complex faults
• Maintain accurate service and repair documentation
• Travel within the region to customer job sites for service, repairs, and operator training
• Complete all tasks in compliance with company and industry safety standards
• Advise customers on operation and maintenance best practices

Required background

• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• 7+ years of hands-on heavy equipment repair and maintenance experience
• Deep knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Proficient with digital voltmeters (DVMs)
• Working knowledge of CANbus systems and PLCs
• Personal hand tools suitable for the role
• Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical examination

Preferred

• 10+ years working on heavy construction equipment
• Welding proficiency
• Advanced diesel engine troubleshooting and repair capability
• Experience working independently in both shop and field environments
• History of training or mentoring other technicians
