Construction Superintendent, Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant
Our client, a highly respected heavy civil and municipal infrastructure contractor, is seeking an experienced Municipal Wastewater Treatment Plant Construction Superintendent for major projects in the Houston and Austin Texas markets.
This is a true field leadership role for construction professionals who have already served as the lead on-site Superintendent for large municipal wastewater treatment plant projects. These are not commercial building projects. The focus is specifically on complex water and wastewater treatment facilities involving massive civil excavation, deep underground utilities, large concrete structures, pump stations, clarifiers, and heavy process equipment installations.
The company is looking for field leaders who thrive running large projects, directing crews, coordinating subcontractors, driving schedules, and maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and production.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead daily safety meetings and enforce OSHA and company safety standards
• Lead all field operations for municipal wastewater treatment plant construction projects
• Direct and supervise foremen, lead personnel, operators, laborers, subcontractors, and vendors on-site
• Manage large-scale excavation and earthmoving operations involving thousands of cubic yards of material
• Oversee deep underground utility and piping installations
• Coordinate large structural concrete pours including basin and reservoir construction
• Manage construction and installation of pump houses, clarifiers, process piping systems, and heavy mechanical equipment
• Maintain project schedules, production goals, safety compliance, and quality standards
• Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, inspectors, and municipal stakeholders
• Conduct jobsite planning, sequencing, scheduling, and workforce coordination
• Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget while maintaining strong client relationships
What We Are Looking For:
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience serving as the actual on-site Superintendent for municipal wastewater treatment plant construction projects
• Experience working directly for a municipal water/wastewater treatment contractor
• Proven background supervising crews performing excavation, underground piping, structural concrete, and process equipment installation
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage large field teams and multiple subcontractors
• Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications, and construction schedules
• Experience coordinating inspections, production schedules, and equipment utilization
• Strong understanding of OSHA safety requirements and heavy civil construction operations
• Stable work history and desire to grow long-term with a respected organization
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
• Opportunity to lead major municipal infrastructure projects that directly impact growing Texas communities
• High-profile heavy civil construction work with large-scale, technically challenging projects
• Strong pipeline of wastewater treatment plant projects throughout the Texas market
• Excellent long-term career growth and stability
• Competitive compensation packages for experienced wastewater superintendents
• Company culture that values strong field leadership, teamwork, safety, and operational excellence
