The Opportunity
We are seeking a senior engineering leader to run a ~35-person engineering organization delivering technology solutions across multiple media clients simultaneously. This role owns execution, predictability, quality, and delivery outcomes in a client-driven environment where requirements evolve and real-world conditions are often messy and can be unpredictable even with the best of planning. The ideal candidate brings strong operational rigor and process discipline, while remaining pragmatic and adaptable in the face of change. Process is used to absorb chaos, not deny it. The successful candidate is a mature leader capable of leading an organization to its next stage of growth but NOT an empire-builder.
What You'll Do
Engineering Delivery & Execution
Own end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent client programs
Ensure predictable execution across sprints, milestones, and releases
Identify delivery risks early and intervene decisively
Balance speed, quality, and realism in commitments
Reduce delivery surprises and late-stage escalations
Organization & People Leadership
Lead, develop and grow a ~35-person engineering organization
Experience managing onshore and offshore resources and matrixed teams
Manage engineering managers and senior technical leads
Structure teams into client- or delivery-aligned pods as needed
Allocate capacity across clients based on priority and risk
Partner with leadership on hiring, org design, and scaling
Operating Rhythm, Process & Predictability
Operate a disciplined, fit-for-purpose delivery framework established collectively with leadership
Implement consistent operating cadence (planning, reviews, retrospectives, releases)
Track delivery metrics such as predictability, throughput, and quality
Use process to create resilience and clarity, not bureaucracy
Adapt plans quickly when reality changes while preserving credibility
Client & Cross-Functional Leadership
Serve as the senior engineering point of accountability for delivery
Partner closely with Product, Client Services, and Leadership
Navigate changing client requirements without destabilizing teams
Make and communicate clear trade-offs under pressure
Represent engineering credibly with demanding enterprise client
Technical Oversight
Ensure consistency in deliverables, documentation and quality standards
Review and approve major technical and delivery trade-offs with adequate input from broader leadership team
Manage technical debt pragmatically in a client-driven environment
Ensure security, reliability, and scalability expectations are met
Operating Philosophy
The successful candidate understands that real-world delivery, especially in media and streaming supply chains, is inherently complex and imperfect.
Believe in structure, planning, and accountability
Accept that plans will change and priorities will shift
Build systems that absorb change without organizational thrash
Remain calm, credible, and decisive during escalations
About You
10+ years in software engineering organizations
5+ years leading managers and multi-team engineering organizations
Direct experience in media, streaming, or digital content distribution
Hands-on exposure to digital media supply chains (ingest, metadata, QC, transcode, localization, packaging, delivery) is highly ideal
Experience delivering technology solutions across multiple enterprise clients simultaneously
Background in consulting, systems integration, or professional services strongly preferred
Comfort operating in environments with contractual commitments and SLAs
Excellent communication skills and ease of working cross-functionally with other teams both technical and non-technical, including previous participation in people management, strategic planning, timeline creation, and creating technical specs as needed
Experience developing software with backend languages/frameworks in Python using Flask, Django, JavaScript specifically in building and supporting RESTful APIs using Django, Django REST Framework and React
Extensive understanding of web application best practices and Git development flow
Understanding of the full stack of the application and experience with HTML/CSS/JS
Understanding of cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
