Externship Overview:
Externs at Dripping Springs Animal Hospital will gain meaningful, hands-on experience in:

• Conducting physical exams and taking patient histories

• Developing diagnostic and treatment plans

• Performing or assisting with surgical and dental procedures

• Participating in diagnostics and medical case management

• Practicing client communication and collaboration with staff

• Gaining insight into daily clinic operations and workflow

Externs will work closely with our associate veterinarians , who are dedicated to student growth and clinical skill development. You won’t just observe—you’ll actively participate in patient care in a supportive and educational environment.

Program Details:
📍 Location: Dripping Springs, TX (20 minutes from Austin)
🕒 Duration: minimum of 2 weeks, up to 4 weeks, depending on student/hospital availability
🎓 Open to: 3rd- and 4th-year veterinary students
💵 Stipend: Up to $1,500 for eligible clinical-year students
