Assistant Coordinator, Clinical Research - Center for Medical Ethics & Health Policy
Summary
The Assistant Coordinator, Clinical Research, will support ongoing research projects and provide general administrative assistance to the project team.
Job Duties
- Recruit participants for research studies related to the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of genetics and genomics, including both in-person recruitment in clinic waiting rooms and telephone outreach.
- Approach, engage, and build rapport with potential participants in a professional and respectful manner, providing clear explanations of study purpose, procedures, and participant rights.
- Conduct informed consent discussions in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of recruitment activities, participant interactions, and study progress.
- Track recruitment metrics and assist with generating reports for the study team.
- Coordinate with clinical and research staff to facilitate recruitment in clinical settings.
- Ensure compliance with study protocols, IRB requirements, and institutional policies.
- Uphold participant privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Assist with other study-related tasks as needed, including scheduling, data entry, and participant follow-up.
- Assist with document preparation and references for publications.
- Attend project meetings.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- No experience required.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to comfortably initiate conversations with individuals in clinical and community settings.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Professional, approachable demeanor with sensitivity to diverse populations.
Work Authorization Requirement:
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
