Assistant Coordinator, Clinical Research - Center for Medical Ethics & Health Policy

Summary

The Assistant Coordinator, Clinical Research, will support ongoing research projects and provide general administrative assistance to the project team.

Job Duties

• Recruit participants for research studies related to the ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI) of genetics and genomics, including both in-person recruitment in clinic waiting rooms and telephone outreach.
• Approach, engage, and build rapport with potential participants in a professional and respectful manner, providing clear explanations of study purpose, procedures, and participant rights.
• Conduct informed consent discussions in accordance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of recruitment activities, participant interactions, and study progress.
• Track recruitment metrics and assist with generating reports for the study team.
• Coordinate with clinical and research staff to facilitate recruitment in clinical settings.
• Ensure compliance with study protocols, IRB requirements, and institutional policies.
• Uphold participant privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Assist with other study-related tasks as needed, including scheduling, data entry, and participant follow-up.
• Assist with document preparation and references for publications.
• Attend project meetings.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• No experience required.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to comfortably initiate conversations with individuals in clinical and community settings.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Professional, approachable demeanor with sensitivity to diverse populations.
