Our open Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, and performing various accounting tasks that contribute to the financial health of the organization. They assist in the preparation of budgets, audit support, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Assist in preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
for multiple properties
• Analyze and reconcile any accounting discrepancies
• Ensure all financial records are maintained in compliance with company’s policies & procedures
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly and annual close
• Ensure all reporting deadlines are met
• Assist in analysis and explanations given to owner entities
• Assist in preparation of documents and analysis for annual audits
• Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and ensure data integrity
• Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism in handling sensitive financial information.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Participate in special projects as assigned by management, such as process improvements or system upgrades
Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree (preferred), in accounting or finance
• At least 2 years of relevant accounting experience
• Experience in hospitality or multi-unit real estate a plus
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial accounting principles
• Must have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (mid-level preferred)
• Ability to learn new technology quickly.
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement, and provide actionable insights
• Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate financial records and keeping track of financial transactions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
• across departments and with property management team
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information responsibly and ethically
• High degree of professionalism, especially when dealing with sensitive information or financial reporting
