Raw Material Buyer
Position Summary The Buyer assist in purchasing materials, supplies, and services at the most favorable terms for the organization. Responsibilities include qualifying vendors, evaluation of bids, and price negotiation for purchased goods and services. You will report directly to the Procurement Manager and will work on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
In the absence of the Buyer, the Buyer II, Procurement manager, or VP of Supply chain will oversee the task and daily operational workflow, ensuring adherence to cGMP and SOPs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Research, select, and purchase quality products and materials.
- Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate with them for the best pricing.
- Process requisitions and update management on the status of orders.
- Update inventory and ensure that inventory levels are kept at appropriate levels.
- Arrange transport of goods and track orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Analyze market trends and apply this knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.
- Coordinate with the inventory team and management as required.
- Assess the quality of inventory received and escalate any discrepancies to suppliers and management.
- All other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Strong forecast and analytical planning.
- Strong analytical and negotiating skills.
- Experience working and maintaining databases.
- Some experience in procurement or purchasing.
- Able to work well in a team environment and easily handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
EDUCATION
- A bachelor's degree in a related field such as business, finance, or supply chain management is preferred.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
