Compensation: $40.00 – $45.00 / Hourly

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on time, maintaining payroll records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and payroll regulations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with ADP , advanced Excel skills, and the ability to manage payroll operations in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing

• Process weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll accurately and in a timely manner using ADP
• Review payroll data including timecards, pay adjustments, bonuses, and deductions for accuracy
• Audit payroll prior to submission and resolve discrepancies as needed
• Ensure payroll processing complies with company policies and applicable regulations

Employee Support & Timekeeping

• Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, taxes, and payroll procedures
• Review and validate employee timekeeping records
• Work with managers and HR to resolve payroll and timekeeping discrepancies

Payroll Data Management

• Maintain and update employee payroll records including tax withholdings, direct deposit information, and deductions
• Generate payroll reports and assist with internal reporting requests
• Utilize Excel for payroll reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis

Reconciliation & Compliance

• Perform payroll reconciliations and support month-end close activities
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
• Maintain organized payroll records and documentation for audits

Process Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and reporting efficiency
• Support payroll system updates, testing, and process enhancements as needed

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll processing experience required
• Experience with ADP payroll systems required
• Strong Excel skills required, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis
• Knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements preferred
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines
