Job Description
Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client for a Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys within a fast-paced litigation practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to assigned litigation attorneys.
- Serve as a point of contact by professionally answering calls, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries as appropriate.
- Prepare, revise, and finalize legal documents and correspondence, including formatting, proofreading, and distribution.
- Review incoming materials and route correspondence, pleadings, and reports to appropriate parties.
- Draft routine letters and legal documents based on attorney direction.
- Coordinate meetings, depositions, and conferences, including scheduling court reporters, expert witnesses, and other third parties.
- Manage attorney calendars, track court deadlines, and maintain accurate docketing of filings and appearances.
- Assist with electronic filing in various courts and maintain organized electronic and physical files.
- Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other external parties in a professional and timely manner.
- Support billing activities, including time entry review, expense submissions, and invoice preparation.
- Ensure sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately at all times.
- Assist with special assignments and projects as needed to support the legal team.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant
- Prior experience working in a personal injury law firm or legal environment, supporting litigation attorneys.
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and law firm workflows.
- Experience with electronic court filing systems.
