Mechanical Field Technician – Cooling Towers
Installation & Commissioning (Hands-On Required)
Location: Greater Dallas Fort Worth, Texas Area
Pay: $25–$32/hr + Overtime + Benefits + Vehicle
This role requires direct, hands-on installation AND commissioning experience on cooling tower systems.
Candidates without field installation and startup experience on cooling towers will not be considered.
Work Scope
Field-based mechanical work on active cooling tower systems across industrial and commercial sites.
• Install cooling tower structures, casing, fill, drift eliminators, fan stacks
• Install and set motors, gearboxes, drive shafts, bearings, couplings
• Perform alignment of fans, shafts, and rotating assemblies
• Execute tower rebuilds, retrofits, and mechanical repairs
• Assist with VFD integration and motor terminations
• Start up and commission cooling tower systems post-install/rebuild
• Diagnose and correct mechanical issues during commissioning
• Work at elevation and travel between job sites
Required Experience (Non-Negotiable)
• U.S. Citizenship or Green Card
• Hands-on installation AND commissioning of cooling towers
• Minimum 2+ years field experience in cooling towers, millwright work, or industrial mechanical construction
• Direct experience with rotating equipment (fans, drives, motors)
• Working knowledge of VFD-driven systems in the field
• Ability to read and execute mechanical drawings
• Valid driver’s license

Dallas Fort Worth Area
Experienced field technicians needed to install, rebuild, and commission cooling tower systems at industrial and commercial facilities. This is hands-on mechanical work on operating equipment.
What You Will Do
• Install cooling tower structures, panels, fill, drift eliminators, and fan stacks at Schools, Hospitals, High Rise Buildings, and factories.
• Install motors, gearboxes, drive shafts, bearings, and couplings
• Work on fan drive systems and rotating equipment
• Assist with VFD installation and motor connections
• Start up and commission tower systems after installation or rebuild
• Perform tower rebuilds, retrofits, and mechanical repairs
• Align fans, drive shafts, and rotating equipment
• Work at heights and travel to job sites
Requirements
Installation and commissioning experience with mechanical equipment required
• 2+ years field experience (cooling towers, millwright, industrial maintenance, or mechanical construction)
• Experience with motors, rotating equipment, or fan systems
• Familiar with VFD-driven equipment
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Valid driver's license
• US Citizenship or Green Card
Preferred
• Cooling tower installation or rebuild experience
• Millwright or industrial mechanical background
• Power plant, manufacturing, refinery, or large facility experience
• OSHA 10/30, rigging, or lift certification
Overtime available based on project workload.
