Retail Supervisor

The Retail Supervisor assists the Retail Manager in supervising the purchasing, stocking, display and merchandising of retail goods in the gift shops at the San Luis Resort. He/she is also responsible for assisting in the operation and stocking of all resort shops including training, and supervising the shop staff. The Retail Supervisor reports directly to the Retail Manager.

Education & Experience:

• 2-year college degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in retail purchasing and/or retailing.
• Prior experience in luxury destination resort operations preferred.

Physical requirements:

• Long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

• Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
• Must work well under stressful, high pressure situations.

• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
• Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.

• Maintain and increase retail revenue.
• Assist in the hiring, training of retail staff.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the retail facilities.
• Monitor and maintain par stocks of retail goods and maintain inventory control.
• Enforce all retail and hotel policies.
