Introduction to the Team

Travel Partnerships and Advertising helps partners, including hotels, vacation rentals, airlines, destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and more, deliver excellent traveler and B2B experiences. We drive growth for our partners and the Expedia Group marketplace through competitive supply and our leading advertising and travel media network. Within this organization, the Vacation Rentals (VR) Business Performance team provides the analytical rigor, operational clarity, and cross‑functional alignment needed to achieve VR competitiveness targets. As a manager on this team, you will play a key role in driving the insights, rhythms, and performance frameworks that enable VR to achieve its scorecard goals.

The Director of Vacation Rentals (VR) Business Performance will lead the realization of the VR scorecard metrics aligned to optimizing VR competitiveness covering global VR supply including account management, acquisition, churn reduction, monetization models, future proofing the business and more. The right candidate will possess strong business acumen, deep knowledge of VR or other similar marketplaces, and the ability to drive key performance indicators (KPIs) while aligning and leading cross-functional teams. The successful candidate will:

  • Manage complex programs with significant risk requiring coordination across multiple organizations, functions, and teams.

  • Know how programs will impact the scorecard leveraging understanding of the business and business analytics capabilities

  • Manage and influence tradeoffs across VR and other lines of business to ensure the scorecard targets are realized, working across product, operations, demand, finance, marketing, sales, service, support, and more

  • Align strategy, direction and communication across the scorecard impacting programs, driving alignment and attention where needed

In This Role You Will:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to establish program objectives, deliverables, and timelines

  • Own the scorecard, defining and tracking KPIs to measure program success and impact on business performance

  • Regularly analyze and evaluate KPI data and program performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions as needed

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure KPIs are met and exceeded

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the program teams & lead team member(s) to deliver & evolve

  • Present findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership to inform decision-making and communicate risk and issues

  • Identify areas for program expansion, enhancement, or modification based on business needs and market trends

  • Serve as a subject matter expert to others on innovative ideas and solutions that will improve current business processes and address challenges

  • Lead prioritization of program initiatives in connection with overarching strategy and drive annual scorecard develop

  • Apply storytelling, influence, and persuasion to connect vision, strategy, and action plans at the organizational level.


Experience and Qualifications:

  • 12+ Years of progressive experience in Business Performance or related field

  • Proven experience in program management, leading multiple large, ambiguous, cross functional programs end-to-end, monitor dependencies, and adjust priorities and timelines

  • Strong business acumen and ability to understand and analyze complex business operations, aligning objectives to strategy

  • In-depth knowledge of VR supply or other equivalent supply side experience

  • Demonstrated ability to drive KPIs, achieve targets, and deliver results

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills including translating complex topics into consumable stories to influence and drive leadership level decisions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities including the ability to identify, analyze and drive decision making using data

  • Passion for continuous improvement and driving innovation and curiosity to continuously learn and understand new spaces
